Fascinating architecture,Rasmanch, Bishnupur, Bankura. The maintenance of this masterpiece is done by Archeological Survey of India. Beautiful play of light and shadow intrigued me.

Shyamrai temple, Bankura, West Bengal, was built by Malla king Raghunath Singha in 1643 AD. The terracotta work on the walls of this temple is spectacular. The decorative panels of this temple throw light on the socio-religious themes, political and economic life of the people, scenes from Ramayana, Mahabharata, Puranas etc.

A close up of the intricate decorative panel, Shyamrai temple, Bishnupur, Bankura. If one wants to see Bengal, one must visit Bishnupur, Bankura which is famous for it's terracotta temples. Indeed a visual treat!
