palanki-narayana Naubat Pahad (Drum mountain) was so named because a drum placed under a canopy atop the mountain used to be beaten to tell the common people that the morning cooking in Royal household was done and the ordinary people can start their own cooking. The feudal king gone, Naubat Pahad and Kala Pahad have structures built by Birlas now.
