I had taken a Home Loan with a fixed rate of interest( 8.75%) to be paid over a period of 10 years. Now as the period gets over ( I have been regular in my payment), the bank tells me that I have to pay a substantial amount more or extend the period by 3 more months. Is this fair & proper

There are many misconceptions about bank fixed deposits in the minds of investors. Many think that up to Rs 10,000 interest from bank deposits is tax-free, as announced in the budget two years ago.

Anil-RegoIf the interest from Bank FD is less than Rs. 10 K then the TDS is not deducted by the bank. However while computing total income for the purpose of tax one has to consider interest from Bank FD even if it is less than Rs. 10,000/-
